A quick update

Hello all,

Yesterday we started our classes. I had a Greek culture and language class- we're learning the alphabet and sounding out words. Pretty fun actually. Its really weird to me to have to recognize symbols and try to remember them when I'm walking around.
I also had my first Greek Literature class. We spent the hour getting the whole run-down of greek mythology pre-Trojan War. I'd heard it before, but she drew a family-tree of sorts and it was nice to have that little piece of background info before we read the Iliad.

I read Homer's Odyssey in high school and remember it being really hard to get through. I love lit and Greek mythology though, so hopefully this time its easier?

A group of 25 of us went to an outdoor movie cinema last night. very cool, its nice lawn chairs set up around a screen with a snack bar in the back. the one we went to was right next to the Acropolis, all lit up at night. We've been told its definitely something the locals do, and for 6 euros- it was quite enjoyable.

We saw "The Guard". It's an Irish film (Hallelujah! It's in English!).  An action/comedy with a dry sense of humor. Loved it.

Today we went to the market and got a lot of cheap, fresh produce. It was fun to interact and bargain with the vendors. I got a bunch of red grapes, apples, oranges and carrots for 3 euros!

More later!

I just got time to post my pictures from Paris! Check them out!

καλησπέρα (Good evening),
